Table updated 29 Mar 2010 Leicestershire are Champions in Almost-too-close-to-call SectionIn matches in this section three teams finished with 7 match points each. MCCU rules require a tie break to be effected by examining game points in matches between the tied teams. Using this rule, Leicestershire come out top, followed by Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire each on 15½ (upper table immediately below). The tie-break between Staffordshire and Leicestershire then depends on their individual match, which was won by Staffordshire. The first match to reports shows a near upset with Shropshirehire forcing Manchester to a drawn match away on 17 October. Shropshirehire again perform well above expectations on 7 Nov thrashing Warwickshire to go top of the table. With two matches played each, Nottinghamshire go to the head of the table. The first result of 2010 shows Leicestershire beating Greater Manchester to go to the top of the table. In February, Warwickshire thrashed GMC, but this was not sufficient to rise in the table. In the last match to be reported, Warwickshire pull away from the bottom of the table after a win against Leicestershire.
