MCCU area junior teams in Div 2 Team Battle

4 Jul 2022. Worcestershire Squad on 94 points and with top scorer Eric Gregory were 3rd. Leicestershire Juniors were 4th with 70 points, and Nottinghamshire's Robin Hoods 5th.

MCCU county juniors in Div 1 Team battle

4 Apr 2022. Leicestershire Juniors were the highest placed MCCU area team coming 5th out of 10 teams in the 28th Intercounties Division 1 team battle played on lichess. Warwickshire Juniors were 6th and newly promoted Worcestershire were 8th.

Kenilworth Junior congress

19 Feb 2022. The one-day event organised by Alex Holwczak attracted a hundred players. Avyukt Dasgupta (Herts) won all his games to take the Open prize. Highest placed Midlander in the higher rated Group A tournament was Alex Royle (Lincs) on 4½/5. Amrissa Kaur Johal (Staffs) was first the lower rated Under-18 Group B on 4½/5. There were four tournaments for Under-11 players. Winners were Adithya Vaidyanathan (Notts), Dhairya Pandya (Sacred Heart), Dylan Kotecha (Hallfield Sch) and Tatiana Gurevich (Devonshire House Sch).
