Newsletter and The Middle Game
Events controllers usually summarised results in June and the summaries of MCCU events were circulated by the the union's secretary by post. In later years periodic Newsletters were published by the secretary. Early items have been scanned from paper copied and are available as pdf documents. The Middle Game was first published in paper form in 2002. It was instigated and edited by Julie Johnson for all except the last two issues. Julie was at that time the MCCU Director of Publicity. When the MCCU website was developed by Neil Beasley starting in 2005 and later managed by Sean Hewitt, the newsletter was mainly distributed electronically. The current publication policy is to place current news items, including results of congresses within the MCCU area, on the website. This page, therefore, constitutes an archive of results and news items between 1986 and September 2008. Prior to 2002, there are many gaps and the webmaster will welcome loans of any missing issues or results for scanning and publication. For more recently archived news, use the left hand side menu and visit "Archived News" pages.
