Leics, Lincs, Manchester and Worcs in semi-finals

6 Dec, Peter Sherlock reports. In the East Zone, Lincs top the table on 5 match points followed by Leics on 4 points. In the West, Worcestershire and Greater Manchester both have 5 match points and they drew their match together, burt Worcestershire squeeze into the top slot on board count (rule 14). The semi-final line-up is as follows: Lincs v GMC and Worcs v Leics scheduled for 24 Jan. The Minor Final & Play-off matches are scheduled to be played on February 21. The winning semi-finalists will play for the MCCU Open Championship and MCCU Minor Championship as well as nomination for MCCU1 & MCCU2 in the ECF final stages. The losing semi-finalists will play for nomination as MCCU3 in the ECF final stages.
6 Dec. Worcestershire confirmed their improved performance with a win against Staffs and GMC had an overwhelming win against Warks. In the East, Derbys drew with Lincs and Leics beat Notts in the East Zone.
8 Nov. In the West, Worcs achieve surprising draw with Greater Manchester and Staffs beat Warks. In the East, Notts beat Derbys over 14 boards and Lincs beat Leics.
25 Oct. Worcs beat Warks to record their first match win since 2011.
19 Oct. In the first West Zone matches Staffs go down to the Mancunians and Lincs beat Notts.
18 Oct. In the first East Zone match Leics beat Derbys.
